기본 동사 정리(03) - get(03)

☐ get을 이용한 숙어 - 「get + 전치사」를 이용한 표현들

→ 다양한 전치사와 합쳐져서, 해당 전치사가 가진 방향에 따라서 말뜻이 변화한다.

→ 자동사의 get과 go는 「가다」로 거의 똑같고 타동사이면「붙잡다」이다.

ex) get out. : 나가.

get down. : 내려가./ 고개 숙여.

get up. : 일어나

get in. : 들어와/ 타.

get off. : 내려.

 

〇 get across (1) <다리·길·강 등을> 건너다, <국경 등을> 넘다 (get across the place) (2) 알리다 (get the idea across)

〇 get after (1) …을 뒤쫓다 (2) 《구어》 …을 꾸짖다 《for》 (3) (…하도록) 조르다

〇 get against …에 반대하다

〇 get ahead (1) 전진하다 (2) 진보하다 (3) 따라잡아 앞서다, 출세[성공]하다

〇 get along (1) 나아가다 (2) 그럭저럭 지내다 (3) 사이좋게 지내다

- get along with you =자기 자신을 쫒아가면서 이야기해라→ 엉뚱한 소리 하지 마라.

〇 get around (1) 돌아다니다 (2) 교제 범위가 넓다 (3) <소문 등이> 널리 퍼지다

(about과 유사)

〇 get at (1) …에 이르다, 닿다 (2) <의미·진리 등을> 파악하다, 이해하다 (3) 알다, 확인하다, 명백히 하다

〇 get away (1) …에서 떠나다;(여행 등에) 나서다 (2) …에서 도망치다

- get away with : (1) ~을 훔쳐 달아나다 (2) (나쁜 짓을 하고도) 처벌을 모면하다[그냥 넘어가다] (3) (예상보다 적은 것으로) 그럭저럭 해 나가다

get along : 1. to advance or make progress with a job that you are doing: 진행하다, 잘 하다

2. to have a friendly relationship with someone: ~와 잘 지내다

get about (=get around) : to be able to move or travel to different places: 여기 저기 다니다, 돌아다니다; 유포하다, 퍼뜨리다

My Gran can't get about much anymore.

 

get on : to succeed in your job or make progress with a job you are doing: 진행하다, 성공하다

You'll have to work harder than this if you want to get on.

 

get out : to escape from a place: + of 빠져나가다

I'm glad for now that I've get my exams over. (끝나다)

It's important for him to get his meaning over to his students. (전달하다)

He was disappointed at not passing the exam, but he'll soon get over it. (이겨내다, 극복하다)

 

get up : to wake up and get out of bed, or make someone do this: 일어나다

I have to get up at 6:00 tomorrow.

 

get off : get 동사를 이용해 ‘퇴근하다’를 표현하는 방법

We got off early today because of snow. (눈 때문에 오늘 일찍 퇴근했다.)

I'll meet you after work. What time do you get off. (일을 마치고선 너를 만나고 싶은데 언제 퇴근하니?)

I get off at 7:00. (7시에 퇴근해.)

What time do you get off? (몇 시에 퇴근해?)

About time for you to get off? (퇴근 시간 됐죠?)

 

get to : ~에 도착하다.

To는 방향과 도착점을 나타내는 그림 (~로,~에게,~까지,~에 대해서)
